VALUE
“One of the nicest restaurant experiences I have ever had.”
PETWILO, TRIPADVISOR
“Our chateaubriand for two was very tasty and tender.”
PAUL, OPENTABLE
Reviews are more mixed here than at some other Dublin steakhouses. The dining room and the chateaubriand consistently win praise, but a number of diners have flagged slower service and inconsistent steak temperatures on busy nights, which is reflected in Tripadvisor’s lower overall score. It’s worth booking ahead, especially for the Sunday roast.

Drinks & Wine at Hawksmoor Dublin
Alongside the food menu, Hawksmoor Dublin runs a full wine list put together in-house from “obscure small producers and big-name vineyards alike,” built around pairing with dry-aged beef, plus a dedicated cocktail programme. The bar’s “Sacred Six” are permanent classics on every visit, alongside seasonal additions such as the Spur Cherry Negroni and the group’s well-known sub-zero martinis. BYO Monday remains the best-value option for wine drinkers: bring any bottle on a Monday for a flat €5 corkage.
THE STORY
The Story of Hawksmoor
Hawksmoor’s story starts in Spitalfields, London, in 2006, built around a commitment to serve only the best beef available. Dublin – opened in May 2023 inside the former National Bank building on College Green – is the group’s first restaurant outside the UK and US, and its Irish flagship. The room keeps the bank’s restored 40-foot hemispherical dome and Corinthian columns.
Hawksmoor was founded by Will Beckett and Huw Gott. Private equity firm Graphite Capital has held a majority stake in the group since 2013; as of the most recent reporting, Hawksmoor operates ten restaurants across the UK (seven in London, plus Edinburgh, Manchester and Liverpool) alongside international sites in New York, Chicago and Dublin.
