Other F.X. Buckley Recognition (Not Tied to One Address)
F.X. Buckley operates four Dublin locations: Pembroke St, Temple Bar, Bull & Castle, and Monkstown. We traced most of the group’s awards to specific addresses, shown above and in the Bull & Castle entry below. The four recognitions below are genuinely brand-level: a cookbook credited to the founders, a butchery-focused meat award, and two rankings whose original sources name only “F.X. Buckley” generally with no address given, even after we checked. We have not credited these to any single location. See the full group record on the F.X. Buckley group page.
Steakhouses We Have Not Found Public Award Records For Yet
This does not mean these are not excellent steakhouses. It simply means we could not find a documented award win or notable ranked list placement credited to this specific address at the time of writing, aside from ongoing Tripadvisor or OpenTable diner ratings. If you know of an award we have missed, please get in touch and we will update this list.
How We Ranked These Steakhouses
We cover sixteen steakhouse brands across Dublin. Over the past few weeks we went through award ceremonies, industry guides, and press coverage to see which of them have picked up genuine recognition, and which haven’t, at least not yet. Here’s how they stack up, ranked by confirmed culinary award wins.
How we counted: a “confirmed win” is either a trophy awarded at a named ceremony (Irish Restaurant Awards, Wine Spectator, World Luxury Restaurant Awards, and so on) or a notable placement on a recognised industry ranked list, like the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants. We didn’t count finalist or shortlisted nominations that didn’t go on to win, and we left out ongoing platform badges, such as Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice and OpenTable’s Diners’ Choice, since those are rolling, algorithm driven designations rather than judged awards. You’ll still find those under the Recognition section on each restaurant’s own page.
A restaurant’s position in the ranking above is decided by its Culinary award wins specifically, not its total win count. We still show every confirmed win, including Venue & Service recognitions such as wedding venue or hospitality awards, but those do not move a restaurant up the list, since they say more about the space than the steak.
Where a brand has more than one Dublin address, such as F.X. Buckley or Boeuf, we rank each address on its own, counting only the wins documented for that specific location. Bull & Castle’s Best Customer Service award, for example, is credited to that branch by name in the original source, so it counts there. Most F.X. Buckley press coverage names the brand rather than one address, so those wins are shown separately as brand-wide recognition and are not credited to any single location.
Where a brand’s own materials describe an award as brand-wide, we still check the original source (the awarding body’s own restaurant listing, or independent press coverage) before accepting that. Several of F.X. Buckley’s wins are marketed as group-wide but are tied, in the awarding body’s own records, to its Pembroke St address specifically, so we have credited them there instead.
This ranking is based on publicly available information gathered from award bodies, industry publications, and press coverage as of 2026. Award records can be incomplete or change over time, and it is possible we have missed a genuine win. If you spot an award we should include or a correction we should make, please contact us and we will gladly update this page.
