One Family Butchery, Four Dublin Steakhouses
Pembroke Street, Temple Bar, Bull & Castle and Monkstown all serve the same dry-aged Buckley beef.The Buckley family has been butchering beef in Dublin since 1930, when they opened a shop on Moore Street. It took until 1987 for that trade to turn into a restaurant, when F.X. Buckley opened its doors on Pembroke Street as the group’s flagship. Three more rooms followed over the years: Temple Bar on Crow Street, Monkstown on the coast in 1993, and Bull & Castle opposite Christ Church Cathedral. Every one of them dry-ages Irish beef on the bone for a minimum of 28 days, cut by the same family butchery. F.X. Buckley – Pembroke Street
Dublin’s original F.X. Buckley steakhouse. A Georgian dining room with a covered terrace and an in-house Master of Wine, and the kitchen picked up a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2025.
F.X. Buckley – Temple Bar
An open-kitchen room a short walk from the Gaiety and the Olympia, and a favourite for dinner before a show. It won Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travellers’ Choice award and holds the group’s highest rating.
Bull & Castle
Sitting opposite Christ Church Cathedral, this is the group’s dual-concept room: an F.X. Buckley steakhouse on the ground floor, with Dausie’s Bar and one of Dublin’s widest craft beer lists upstairs.
F.X. Buckley, Monkstown
The coastal room, on the DART line between Blackrock and Dún Laoghaire. Alongside the same dry-aged steaks there’s a full seafood menu, plus Frank’s Bar upstairs.
